Suzuki RPM Chart

For most modern Suzuki outboard motors, the recommended Wide-Open Throttle (WOT) operating range generally falls between 5000–6000 RPM. Optimal performance is achieved when the engine is able to reach the upper end of this range under normal operating conditions, supporting efficient power delivery and long-term reliability.

Exact Suzuki RPM specifications can vary depending on engine model, horsepower, and year. The chart below provides typical Wide-Open Throttle (WOT) RPM ranges for many Suzuki outboard models, based on manufacturer information and marine propeller industry references.

Important Considerations:

Propeller Pitch
Achieving proper WOT RPM is essential for engine health. If your Suzuki outboard is unable to reach the recommended RPM range, a lower propeller pitch may be required. If RPM exceeds the upper limit, increasing pitch can help reduce engine speed. As a general rule, a one-inch change in pitch will adjust WOT RPM by approximately 150–200 RPM.

Optimal Cruise RPM
For regular operation, Suzuki gasoline outboards typically perform best when cruising at 70–75% of maximum rated RPM, offering a balance of speed, fuel efficiency, and reduced mechanical stress.

Consult the Manual
